- Laura is the Project Coordinator of "not far from the tree." She never intended to start up a fruit tree project, but when the idea and opportunity fell into her lap (rather, her inbox) she couldn't refuse. Many people had been dreaming up this project for Toronto, so it was only a matter of making it happen.
Laura holds a Master's degree in "Community Arts for Environmental Education" (FES, York University, Toronto). At the Art Gallery of Ontario she works as Community Artist Facilitator with the ArtsAccess program, and at the Art Gallery of York University she co-facilitates an education program on stormwater management and the cultural power of rivers. She seeks dynamic and artistic ways to engage the public on environmental issues, like knitting tree cosies with 8-year-olds.
