Greenest City’s Parkdale Food, Earth and Culture Festival! Sunday September 27 Noon-4pm!
Sep 22nd, 2009 by Laurel Atkinson

Greenest City, our partner in Parkdale – High Park, is hosting its annual autumn celebration festival! The Parkdale Food, Earth and Culture Festival will be happening Sunday September 27 from 12 noon – 4pm at Masaryk Park.
You don’t want to miss out on this! There will be amazing music and performance, including Baro Dununba (African drumming group), the Voyce, Tibetan Youth Group, Wu Denking (Chinese musician), Don Kerr (Children’s musician), JRock the Rapping Chef, Japanese and Filipino martial artists (and many more!)
Not Far From the Tree will be there with our cider press, allowing you to taste the freshest cider you’ve ever tasted in your life! (If you’ve always wanted to run a cider press, now’s your chance! You can see more photos of the cider press on our flickr site. If you can volunteer for an hour or so, please contact me: laurel@notfarfromthetree.org).
There will also be a small farmer’s market, kids games, free bike tune-ups, shiatsu massages, a corn roast, and eco workshops. There will be food for sale, prepared by Tibet Kitchen, Roti Lady, Ali Baba, and Greenest City staff and volunteers.
Wait a minute — a CORN ROAST?!?!?!? Yup; you heard right.
It’s a packed and fun-for-all event that celebrates Parkdale, healthy food and the environment. So join us and spread the word to your family, friends and neighbours! All of the activities above are free of charge. Greenest City is only asking for a minimum donation of $2 for a plate of food to offset some of their costs. If you have any questions about the festival itself, please contact Gelek: gelek@greenestcity.ca
Hope to see you there!!!
