Niagara Fruit Blossom Hike
May 25th, 2008 by Laura Reinsborough
On Saturday, May 10th, I travelled to the Niagara Fruit Education Centre for a fruit blossom hike. I had hoped to hone my fruit blossom identification skills, so that I could walk through the city and know a fruit tree just by its blossoms. Led by the Bruce Trail Conservancy, this hike turned out to be more about the wildflowers on the escarpment. I took some beautiful spring photos of the orchards at the Education Centre, but unfortunately learned very little about fruit blossoms. I’ll have to return later in the year for an orchard tour when I have time to peruse the exhibits at the Centre.
