Edible Tree Tour II
Jul 27th, 2009 by Laura Reinsborough
Last year’s Edible Tree Tour at and around Spadina Museum was a hit. The turnout tripled from what the Toronto Tree Tours are used to, showing a strong interest to learn about the many edibles growing amidst our urban canopy.
For the 2009 version, LEAF and Not Far From The Tree have concocted a tasty tour between Eglinton and St. Clair. It starts at the newly-planted community orchard at Ben Nobleman Park (meet at Eglinton West Station), winds through Cedarvale Ravine, and finishes with a flurry of residential trees. We’ll witness a bonafide NFFTT fruit pick in action and artist Stan Krzyzanowski will show us the cherry trees he has grafted together as sculptural material. If we’re lucky we’ll see pears, plums, apricots, and apples that are in season!
Join us on Saturday, August 15th from 2-4pm. RSVP here.
