Introducing Jo Flatt!

I am Jo Flatt. I have just started working as Social Enterprise Strategist for Not Far From the Tree. You might be wondering, what exactly does that mean? Well, I will tell you. Over the next several months I will be co-developing strategies and testing ways to keep Not Far From The Tree growing and flourishing into the future. There is a lot of love for this project and I think Toronto (and even the world) wants to make sure that it keeps picking fruit and engaging community until the end of time.
In my academic life, I studied socially responsible business and public policy. Over the past several years, I have worked with social entrepreneurs of all shapes and sizes – learning, sharing and experimenting with new ideas that create impact. I like to dream big and figure out how to make stuff happen. One of my favorite pastimes involves making large quantities of baked goods and befriending strangers. So watch out! If I don’t know you, I may try to become your friend…
I am unbelievably excited to be working as part of such a great team. Not Far From The Tree brings many of my greatest passions together. One, bicycles. Two, food and sharing it with people. And three, fun and creativity. Really, what could be better?
