Night and day cherries
Jul 10th, 2009 by Suzanne Long
I stumbled across the Green P cherry tree while on an evening walk earlier this week. I’d been wondering about its location ever since I’d heard about an intrepid market volunteer picking from it last summer. Anyhow, I was over the moon and was indulged in a little late night picking. Enough for a pie.
And I came back the next day, with another friend, for more. We’d been at a fab lunch across the street, where they generously supplied us with containers.
Hint for shy foragers: always try to pick with a friend, it makes for good street theatre and even better bake-offs!
