More sweet cherries

On Sunday we picked another three sweet cherry trees in Ward 21. ‘Tis the season, as they are ripening all around the neighbourhood.
These trees can get quite tall, so each is a puzzle that needs our enthusiasm and creativity to be solved. But Not Far From The Tree volunteers are always up for the task!
After a hot afternoon picking cherries in the sun, it’s nice to take a moment sorting through the harvest. Its a quiet moment of rest where we can take in the fruits of our labour, so to speak. The beautiful waxy sheen and popping red hue of cherries make for a satisfying reward… not to mention the taste!
