Upcoming events
Feb 25th, 2009 by Laura Reinsborough
Many great events are coming up soon. First of all, Toronto’s Seedy Saturday is this Saturday, February 28th! Not Far From The Tree (which made its debut at last year’s event) will be there proudly. This year, Seedy Saturday will be held at the Wychwood Barns and in the afternoon (2-6pm).

At Seedy Saturday, Not Far From The Tree will be launching a gorgeous screenprinted poster designed by Gregory Alan Elliott as a fundraising effort. The posters have been beautifully handprinted, and will sold for only ten dollars.
What are you doing on Thursday, March 5th at 2:30pm? Crunching, I hope.
On Saturday, March 7th Joe Mihevc’s office will be throwing a trivia night fundraiser for Wychwood Open Door, one of our partner agencies, at the Wychwood Barns. They do incredible work in offering fresh meals three days a week, a service that is increasingly needed in times like these. Please donate generously so that Wychwood Open Door may continue the incredible work that they do.
And mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 25th when Not Far From The Tree and Growing for Green propose the community orchard at Ben Nobleman Park to local residents. The City will be hosting a community meeting to consider this and two other park projects at Cedarvale from 7-9:00pm. We look forward to a large and enthusiastic crowd. Please come and show your support for fruit trees to be planted in public parks. What happens in Ben Nobleman Park is likely to set a precedent for other areas of the city.
