getting involved: who, what, where, when, how
Sep 3rd, 2007 by Laura Reinsborough
I’ve explained some of the “why” in the About section and will get to more details on that later. For now, here’s a run-down of how not far from the tree works, in case you’re interested in getting involved.
Who: A rotating cast of volunteers
What: We harvest apples from the heritage gardens and remnant orchards at Spadina House, a historic house run by the City of Toronto, to sell for a marginal profit at the Stop Community Food Centre‘s Farmers’ Market.
Where: Beginning at Spadina House (285 Spadina Road) we harvest the apples and other produce then bike/cart them over to the market at St. Michael and All Angels church at St. Clair and Wychwood. Probably as early as next year the market will be moved into the Green/Arts Barns at Wychwood and Benson.
When: On Saturday mornings we harvest, on Saturday afternoons we sell. August 18-October 6, 2007.
How: Send me an email at laura.reinsborough [that number two key with the shift key] gmail [just one dot] com.
